Epithelial cell state dynamics associated with membrane transport proteins in cancer and stem cell biology.

I have studied cell state transition associated with functional membrane transporter proteins including water channel proteins in cancer cells. First publication provides new insights into roles of water channel Aquaporin-5 in development of breast cancer associated with diagnosis and prognosis of patients. This paper contributed to further studies conducted by other research groups in roles of Aquaporins in cancer cell migration. The current approach focuses on identifying membrane transporters associated with cell proliferation and metastasis of breast cancer cells using large-scale transcriptome datasets of human patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database of NCI.
